About Us
Pacific Trustees Berhad (“Pacific Trustees”) was incorporated on 21st September 1994 under the Companies Act 1965 (which since has been repealed by the Companies Act 2016) and registered as a Trust Company under Section 4 of the Trust Companies Act 1949. Pacific Trustees is qualified and is duly registered to act as a Bond Trustee with Securities Commission, to also act as a licensed Trustee for Unit Trust Funds as well as Real Estate Investment Trusts (“REITs”). Pacific Trustees is authorised to offer a full range of trust services to both individuals and corporations. The latest additions to our range of services include our appointment as an approved Scheme Trustee for the Private Retirement Scheme (“PRS”) with effect from 11 June 2012.
At Pacific Trustees, we adopt an integrated business solution-oriented approach and ensure that the business and operations units are all effectively coordinated to provide a cohesive service support to our clients. Committed to effectiveness, the teams observe our Business Philosophy in “GOING FORWARD TOGETHER” and endeavour to build long-term relations with all parties involved through collaborative partnerships. Time is initially invested to first fully understand the specific needs of each client before matching customised solutions and services that best serve those needs. This results in significant value-creation, enhanced efficiency and speedy execution in the marketplace.
Pacific Trustees is an independent trust company. Unlike other trust companies, we are not part of any larger institution that may require us to serve competing or conflicting interests. Pacific Trustees has always been able to act independently and professionally without any adverse conflict of interest situation especially in transactions among related parties or within Group of banking companies. This reassurance to act fairly and impartially at all times is a critical role of a trustee as stakeholder safeguarding the interest of its beneficiaries.
We have a team of dedicated and qualified professionals with extensive experiences to provide and maintain quality services on a continuing basis. Every assignment will have an experienced Head to lead and guide the team to manage the business needs from inception to maturity. Deliberately structured and organised with a flat organisation structure, we are able to respond speedily with quick decisive solutions to address many ad hoc needs of our varying clients.
Over the last 30 years, we have acted as Trustee for many schemes, issues and organisations, in Corporate Bonds, Real Estate Investment Schemes (REITS), Clubs and Time Sharing schemes as well as Collective Investment Schemes (CIS). We currently provide corporate trust services to more than 270 Corporate Bonds (Bonds), Asset-Backed Securitisation, and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), with a total Bonds issuance of more than RM509.0 billion. Just to mention that there has been no change in ownership over the entire period of Pacific Trustees’ operation.
Apart from the above mentioned services, we are also involved in Employee Share Option Scheme (ESOS), Share Grant Plan (SGP) and other custodian services, such as stakeholders’ agreement and corporate restructuring exercises, as requested from our clients. We also manage and act for individuals, as Trustees or Executors or Administrators for private trusts, will writing services, and the administration of their estates.
